Wake up in the evenin' feeling like P-Diddy...

I hear an alarm go off. It's maybe like...9pm.
I go into Jeff's and Jack's room.
Jack is staring at Jeff.
Jeff is asleep.
I come up to Jeff and shove him in the side.
He wakes up and shuts off his alarm.
Ten minutes later I come in to their room and Jeff is asleep.
I ask Jack if I should wake him up. He says Jeff said not to wake him up. I leave.
Two hours later Rosette wakes Jeff up. He
doesn't remember telling Jack not to wake him up. I think Jeff is just always
asleep. Forever and
ever asleep.

The picture is of dinner. Hannah, Margaret and I are very tired of Klien (dining commons). Actually, everybody is very tired of Klien. It's not always bad. But today I ended up having a little bit of pasta, soy milk and a banana for lunch. That's not lunch. But everything else was disgusting. The omelet we made had tomatoes, parmesan, pepper from the community garden, salt, milk and black pepper. Rice I bought awhile ago, thankfully it still exists. We also had a salad
of pepper/tomato and Greek yogurt. And then we fried apples we had picked with brown sugar and butter. Dollop of sour-cream on top and mmmmm .

  1. It all looks and sounds delicious ...
But if there are so many students not happy with the primary food court, you guys should write a letter to whoever is on top (preferably to whoever is in charge of food). This letter should be not too long and balanced - tell what you like (e.g. the garden) and what you don't like. And outline your suggestions e.g. give students more freedom with their meal plan and bard-bucks, getting reimbursement for days you cook on your own, make paid positions for students in the kitchen so those who have inclination for housekeeping can make things better for everyone, etc. It's an normal way to resolving the issue. If you get at least part of what you ask for, eventually it will become obvious that they need to change the approach to how they hire the vendor.

  2. haha, funny. The food has gotten significantly better since last year, it is absolutely edible. And that's because Botstien threatened to drop them over the summer. It's just that they have to produce a LOT of food. There is variety, but when you are eating at the same place day after day, all your meals, you get tired of it. Sometimes the food is actually really good. They had banana flambe: Super super fancy. I'm sure there was SOMETHING there during lunch yesterday too, but home cooking is just so much better, and cooking with friends is really fun.
Trust me, no one wants to work in those kitchens. And we get more freedom after first semester in terms of our meal plan. And I think Thursday we are getting lasagna: Angela is making it, and it counts as a meal swipe, so the have that system set up but you need 10 or more people to agree to it.

  3. What is meal swipe? If this is what I think it's better than working in the kitchen.
